Denny Hamlin tops Practice #2 for the Sprint Cup series

The second practice of the weekend for the Sprint Cup cars was Saturday morning. Denny Hamlin laid down a 28.995 second lap at a speed of 186.239 mph on his very first lap on the track. Paul Menard was the second quickest in the practice session with a 29.013 second lap on his third lap of the session for a speed of 186.123 mph. Carl Edwards was the third fastest car in the practice period as the last person in the session to break the 186 mph barrier with a 186.021 mph lap in 29.029 seconds. The fourth best time in the session was clocked by Kyle Busch who turned in a 29.037 second lap which equates to a 185.970 second lap. Rounding out the top five in practice was Martin Truex Jr. with a time of 29.048 seconds and a speed of 185.899 mph.

Final Cup Series practice will be from 1:00 – 2:00 Eastern time.
