Changes and Notes for 1-800-Car-Cash Mudsummer Classic This Wednesday Night

John Hunter Nemechek confirmed to Frontstretch.com via Twitter on Monday, the 17 year-old driver will have sponsorship from the MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas on his No. 8 Toyota Tundra for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on dirt at Eldora Speedway this Wednesday night.

Nemechek is currently 24th in the points standings through just four Truck Series starts this season where he has posted two top-ten finishes.

Also, via Twitter on Monday, Ryan Ellis confirmed that he will not be behind the wheel of the Koma Unwind Relaxation Drink RAM for Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing on Wednesday night. Team owner, Jo Cobb will be fielding the No. 10 RAM for Koma Unwind herself.

A couple of last minute entry changes have been made.  First, Korbin Forrester is now listed as the driver of the No. 08 for SS-Green Light Racing, replacing regular driver Jimmy Weller, III.  The No. 08 is currently 21st in owners’ points.  However, since the No. 5 for Wauters Motorsports is not entered this week, Forrester’s No. 08 is locked into the Mudsummer Classic.

Secondly, a post-entry has been filed for Shorewood, IL’s Mike Affarano, who will attempt the race in his No. 03 Chevrolet with sponsorship from Won-N-Done.  Affarano was originally entered in last Saturday’s Ansell ActivArmr 150 for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards at Chicagoland Speedway, but withdrew.  Affarano has five career ARCA starts with a best career finish of 16th at the Illinois State Fairgrounds (“The Springfield Mile”) in 2012.

The second annual 1-800-Car-Cash Mudsummer Classic at Eldora Speedway for the Camping World Truck Series can be seen live on FOX Sports1 as well as heard on MRN Radio on Wednesday, July 23rd at 9:00 PM ET.

Jo Cobb is her father and will be driving the #0 which has been driven by Ryan Ellis this season. Jennifer Jo Cobb is the team owner and has always driven the #10 except for last year when her father, Jo Cobb, drove it for her at Eldora.

And once again, after the best season Trucks have had in a long time in 2013, us Canadians are left out of the fun thanks to FOX, despite the fact they RACE HERE AT MOSPORT. Nothing like alienating the fans you’re trying to attract. Looks like it’s illegal streaming for me again….
