It’s been a season to remember for Chris Buescher so far in 2015; after all, the 22-year-old driver currently leads the NASCAR Xfinity Series points standings and has two victories. Not only has Buescher found success in the Xfinity Series, but he also made his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut driving the No. 34 Ford for Front Row Motorsports.
And now, he will make his sixth start for the team next weekend at Watkins Glen International, the team announced today, July 30.
It will be Buescher’s first career Cup start on a road course, but he is no stranger to those type of tracks. He won the 2014 Nationwide’s Children’s Hospital 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course; of course, the idea is that Buescher’s road racing success will translate to the Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glen.
The No. 34 team is currently 33rd in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series owners point standings. Buescher’s best finish in the car this season was a 20th at Auto Club Speedway in March. Brett Moffitt is the team’s primary driver at the moment.
