Menards Continues XFINITY Series Partnership With RCR

On Tuesday, Richard Childress Racing announced that Menards will continue its relationship with the team in the NASCAR XFINITY Series throughout 2016. NASCAR fans will see the well-known home improvement store on the side of the No. 2 Chevrolet driven by Paul Menard and the No. 33 Chevrolet driven by Brandon Jones in select events.

Menards have been a loyal partner of Menard and other drivers all throughout racing. Menards also sponsors Matt Crafton full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Frank Kimmel in select ARCA Racing Series events.

Menards is very happy to continue their relationship with RCR in the XFINITY Series.

“We are excited to be back for another season of NASCAR XFINITY Series racing with RCR. Last year proved to be a success with Paul Menard’s win in our home state of Wisconsin at Road America along with four top-five and eight top-10 finishes with Menard and Brandon Jones behind the wheel,” said Jeff Abbott, Menards Promotion Manager in a release. “We are proud of the caliber of race cars Richard Childress and his team bring to the race track each weekend. We look forward to another exciting season in 2016 with Jones and Menard behind the wheel again.”

Menard will run select events in the NASCAR XFINITY Series as he continues to compete full-time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for the team. Menard’s first XFINITY Series race of the brand-new season will come at Atlanta. The race at the 1.5-mile oval will serve as his 200th XFINITY Series start.

Danny Stockman will serve as the crew chief for Menard. Stockman led Menard to one victory last season in the No. 33 Chevrolet at Road America in his home state of Wisconsin.

Jones will join Richard Childress Racing full-time in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. The Georgia native earned one top five and two top 10 finishes in five total starts in 2015. The young driver will be just one of the drivers racing for the 2016 Rookie of the Year title. Jones will be led by veteran crew chief Mike Hillman, Jr.

“Menards’ continued support this season with Paul Menard and Brandon Jones in the XFINITY Series is a true testament to their commitment to RCR and this sport,” said Richard Childress, CEO and Chairman of Richard Childress Racing in a release. “The Menards racing team found success last season with Paul winning in his home state of Wisconsin and Brandon’s solid finishes on track. We hope to build on that success this year and provide Menards an opportunity to be a winning company both on and off the race track.”
