Frontstretch’s Truck Series content is presented by American Trucks

Cole Custer led the way in final practice for Saturday’s Alpha Energy Solutions 250 at Martinsville Speedway. The 18-year-old ran a 19.788-second lap to beat John Hunter Nemechek for the top spot on the speed charts.

Ben Rhodes won practice No. 2 in his No. 41 Toyota and finished third in final practice. Kyle Busch and Spencer Gallagher completed the top-5 times.

The field of 38 saw three practice sessions to open the weekend at Martinsville.

Claire Decker, attempting her first Truck Series race, ran the most laps of the final session [65] while Daniel Suarez, Kaz Grala, William Byron, Kyle Larson and Johnny Sauter finished among the top-10 times.

Point leader Parker Kligerman finished 15th and 17th in the last two sessions, respectably. Six drivers will miss the race as the field will be whittled down to 32 in tomorrow’s qualifying session.

Do they give you a little clock when you win practice at Martinsville?

Chris

Yeah, I wondered the same thing when I read the headline. I’m not sure that “win” is quite the right word to use for a practice section.
