Poole, Busch fastest in Friday Xfinity Series Practices In New Hampshire

The two NASCAR Xfinity Series practice sessions on Friday ended with two different drivers from competing manufactors on top of the charts.

Brennan Poole had the fastest lap of the first session with a speed of 129.248 mph after running more laps than any other driver in the field during the session. Poole has only one start at Loudon, a tenth last season. Kyle Busch, who is searching for his fifth win at New Hampshire in this series, was the fastest in the second session at 129.388 mph.

There were no major incidents in either session that forced a yellow or red flag.

Practice One

Busch was the second fastest at 128.710 mph, followed by Justin Marks in third. Marks, who is Poole’s Chip Ganassi Racing teammate, has never competed at New Hampshire in any series.

Brad Keselowski, who has won three races at Loudon but is still searching for his first Xfinity Series win of the season, was fourth in this session. Austin Dillon rounded out the top five in fifth.

Other notables include Erik Jones in sixth, Elliott Sadler in eighth, Alex Bowman in ninth, and points leader Daniel Suarez in 12th.

Practice Two

Ty Dillon found some speed in this session, finally getting in a mock qualifying run and finishing the day second at 128.832 mph. Keselowski was third and Austin Dillon was fourth. Neither Dillon has won at Loudon but Austin is riding a three race streak of top three finishes at the track headed into this weekend.

Blake Koch ended the session fifth and Alex Bowman was sixth. Bowman, however, suffered a part failure in the drive train in the final moments of practice and his No. 88 crew will be working to fix it between now and tomorrow.
