Race Weekend Central

Entry List: Combat Wounded Coalition 400 at the Brickyard

The famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway and prestigious running of the Brickyard 400 appear next on the Sprint Cup Series schedule.

As of Monday, there are 41 cars entered, meaning one will go home, barring any entry list updates.

Currently, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is entered in the No. 88 car for Hendrick Motorsports. However, once an update on his health status is provided later this week, HMS will officially confirm if he will return behind the wheel this weekend. If he is unable to compete, Jeff Gordon will pilot the car.

The No. 93 BK Racing car for Ryan Ellis is the additional entry this weekend as he attempts to qualify for his third race of the season. He has finished in 37th in both starts in 2016, including last weekend at New Hampshire.

Defending race winner Kyle Busch will eye a second victory at Indianapolis on Sunday. If he captures the victory, it will be his fourth of the season and he will tie Brad Keselowski for most in the Sprint Cup Series.

Racing begins on Friday at Indianapolis with opening practice at 1:30 p.m. and final practice at 4 p.m. (all times ET). Qualifying will take place on Saturday at 1:45 p.m. Coverage of the race starts Sunday at 3 p.m. on NBC Sports Network.
