Spencer Gallagher topped the first round of qualifying as the only driver to break the 180 mph mark, and he backed that up with a 180.307 mph lap, good enough for his second pole this season (Chicagoland). Daniel Hemric will start alongside on the front row. William Byron, Matt Tifft and Tyler Reddick rounded out the top 5.
Timothy Peters will start sixth, followed by Matt Crafton, who finished runner-up in June to William Byron. Ben Rhodes starts eighth, and Christopher Bell, who led the lone practice session this morning rolls off ninth. Daniel Suarez, who is driving the No. 51 Toyota for Kyle Busch Motorsports tonight, rounds out the top 10.
Meanwhile, Chase drivers Ben Kennedy and Johnny Sauter didn’t make it out of the first round, qualifying 14th and 16th, respectively. Sauter is already locked into the Championship 4, but Kennedy needs a solid race to make up for being wrecked at Martinsville last weekend.
Mike Harmon, Ryan Ellis and Tommy Regan failed to make the field.
The Striping Technology 350 will run tonight at 7:30 p.m. with coverage on FOX Sports 1.
