Brennan Poole Leads Final XFINITY Practice in Phoenix

In preparation for the penultimate race of the 2016 season, the XFINITY Series wrapped up their practice sessions Friday at Phoenix International Speedway.

While eight teams will decide the series’ Final 4 drivers next week at Homestead-Miami Speedway, it was a non-Chaser who led the way on the 1-mile track.

Despite winning five of the last six races at Phoenix, Kyle Busch did not lead the final practice session. That instead went to Brennan Poole, the Chip Ganassi Racing driver who turned the best lap of either session at 134.098 mph [26.846 seconds].

He bested Busch by 0.086 as Erik Jones, Brendan Gaughan and Justin Marks completed the top 5.

The remaining Chase drivers, who will battle for the spots in the Final 4, were Allgaier [sixth], Suarez [eighth], Darrell Wallace, Jr. [10th], Ryan Reed [13th], Elliott Sadler [14th] and Blake Koch [20th].

Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. finished 12th and 15th fastest in his first XFINITY weekend since 2014.
