On Friday morning, Bodymotion Racing’s Trent Hindman was fastest overall in opening practice at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park for the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.  Hindman’s lap of 85.462 seconds (103.582 mph) was two-tenths of a second faster than Jack Roush Jr. in KohR Motorsports’ No. 59 Ford Mustang GT4.

C360R’s Paul Holton was third quickest in the fastest of the McLaren 570S GT4s.  Chris Green was fourth fastest in the No. 69 Motorsport in Action McLaren while Rennsport One’s Dylan Murcott was fifth.

In Street Tuner, MINI JCW Team continued their strong form from Watkins Glen.  Mat Pombo put the No. 73 MINI at the top of the timesheets with a lap of 92.197 seconds (96.016 mph).  Pombo’s lap was six-hundredths of a second faster than Murillo Racing’s Eric Foss in the best of the Porsche Caymans.  Rennsport One’s Spencer Pumpelly was just six-thousandths of a second behind Foss in third.

Christian Szymczak was fourth fastest in the Murillo Racing Mazda MX-5.  James Vance, running at his home track, was fifth fastest in the No. 37 MINI.

Only 31 cars took time during the session.  Both TeamTGM and Motorsport in Action had entered two cars for this weekend’s race, but have chosen to withdraw them.  As a result, there are only 12 Grand Sport entries in Ontario this weekend.
