Gary Klutt Set to Make Cup Series Debut at Watkins Glen

Veteran to the NASCAR Pinty Series since 2010, Gary Klutt is scheduled to make his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series debut next weekend at Watkins Glen International for Premium Motorsports in the No. 15 Color Compass Chevrolet.

Klutt made his inaugural start in one of NASCARs top three touring divisions last season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park competing for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the Camping World Truck Series. After starting 15th, the road course ace brought the No. 51 truck home 11th.

This season, Klutt has competed in four of the seven Pinty races with a best result of third, also north of the border. The Canadian native has a worse finish of 10th in those four events.

In the first 20 events of 2017, Premium Motorsports has had nine drivers fill its two entries. Michael Waltrip picked up the organizations best finish, kicking off the season with an eighth-place finish in the Daytona 500. Last weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Gray Gaulding brought the No. 55 car home 24th, while Joey Gase finished 25th.

In June at Sonoma Raceway, the other road course the Cup Series heads to, team owner Jay Robinson brought road course ringers Tommy Regan and Kevin O’Connell on board, finishing 33rd and 34th, respectively.
