Christopher Bell Wins 2nd Career XFINITY Pole at Atlanta

Christopher Bell will lead the field to the green flag in this afternoon’s NASCAR XFINITY Series Rinnai 250 after posting a blistering fast lap with less than two minutes remaining in the third round of qualifying. The pole in the second in his career and his first as a full-time driver. The 23-year-old started in the top spot at Iowa Speedway last season and finished 16th.

Bell’s 181.176 mph lap narrowly edged Joey Logano by a mere 0.030 sec. Logano was fastest in the first round, while John Hunter Nemechek, who will start third, led the second round. Meanwhile, the Stewart-Haas Racing teammates Cole Custer and Kevin Harvick round out the top five.

Daniel Hemric will start sixth, followed by Brandon Jones and Kyle Benjamin. Rookie Chase Briscoe qualified ninth, and Daytona runner-up Elliott Sadler rounds out the top 10. Last week’s winner, Tyler Reddick, will start 11th.

Josh Bilicki and Mike Harmon both failed to qualify with 42 cars entered in Saturday’s race.

The XFINITY Series will open Saturday’s double-header with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at 2 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
