Jimmie Johnson Leads Final Practice at Dover

Jimmie Johnson led the one and only practice session on Saturday (May 4) afternoon at Dover International Speedway after the first practice session was cancelled after fog rolled in overnight and into the morning hours.

Johnson, who has a 69-race winless streak, is trying to extend his all-time wins lead at Dover with his 12th Miles the Monster Trophy on Sunday afternoon. Johnson ran 59 laps with his best lap at 22.241, 161.863 mph.

Martin Truex Jr, Erik Jones, Kyle Larson and Aric Almirola rounded out the top five.

Polesitter and October winner at Dover Chase Elliott was 10th fastest, while defending May winner Kevin Harvick was mired in 14th.

Joey Logano ran 81 laps in the session, the most of all drivers around the concrete mile. Larson had the best 10-lap average at 159.747 mph.

The GanderRV 400 is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
