Brandon Jones Returning to Joe Gibbs Racing in 2020

Multiple sources have confirmed to Frontstretch that Brandon Jones will be returning to the No. 19 Xfinity Series ride for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2020.

Jones, 22, signed a two-year contract with JGR when joining to team prior to the 2018 season.

Through 27 races this season, the Georgia native has a career-high four top-five finishes and 13 top 10s, sitting ninth in points.

Heading into this weekend’s ROVAL race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the No. 19 team is 15 points below the cutline.

At Richmond Raceway, Jones would neither confirm nor deny the report of returning for 2020.

“I would hope so,” Jones said. “I think I’ve proved myself in this car, at least this year. We’ve still got the end of the year left, we’re still trying to win a championship, so that’ll definitely help the conversation if we get that done.”

It’s also expected that primary sponsor, Menards, will up its race count as the primary sponsor from 12 to 14 races in 2020.
