Spencer Boyd Returning to Young’s Motorsports Full Time

Spencer Boyd will again compete in the No. 20 truck of Young’s Motorsports for the 2020 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series season, Young’s announced Friday (Jan. 31).

“We have so much more to do together,” Boyd said in a team release. “It’s a family team that has done amazing things since coming into the sport in 2012; I’m honored to still be a part of this family. Last season marked a huge first for me as a driver and Young’s as an organization with our win at Talladega so we want to build on that. Tyler and I spent a lot of time in the offseason working on how we can get better as a team and now it’s time to put those ideas together on and off the track.”

Boyd drove the No. 20 in 18 Truck races last year and earned his first career win at Talladega Superspeedway. He also placed fourth in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway.

In addition, Boyd made his NASCAR Cup Series debut in 2019 and competed in three events. Previously, in 2018, he ran the full Xfinity Series season with SS Green Light Racing.

“What can I say about Spencer Boyd?” team owner Tyler Young said. “I’m reminded every day what he means to our team because I walk by that confetti covered truck and get motivated to further develop our program. We have much more to accomplish together.”

Full details about sponsorship and Boyd’s crew chief are still to be announced.

Boyd was originally announced as the full-time driver of the No. 20 in 2019 before moving to a part-time role to focus on his Cup efforts.

Boyd joins Tate Fogleman at Young’s in 2020.
