Joey Logano Becomes Cup Series Pole Sitter for Indianapolis

By virtue of a randomized draw on NASCAR Race Hub on Thursday, July 2, Joey Logano became the pole sitter for the NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He will lead the field to green in the 2020 Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 Powered by Big Machine Records, affectionately known as the Brickyard 400.

In 11 career starts at the 2.5-mile track, Logano has four top fives and seven top 10s.

Starting second will be Kurt Busch, who will make his 700th career Cup Series start.

Hendrick Motorsports teammates Alex Bowman and Jimmie Johnson will start on the second row in third and fourth place, respectively.

Aric Almirola, who started first in the first race of the Pocono Raceway doubleheader, will start fifth.

The Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 Powered by Big Machine Records will take place on Sunday, July 5 at 4 p.m. ET with TV coverage provided by NBC.
