Mid-Ohio INDYCAR Doubleheader Rescheduled For Sept. 12-13

INDYCAR will have two more races to fill out its revised 2020 schedule this season. On Saturday (Sept. 5), the open-wheel series confirmed it’ll run next weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

“The NTT INDYCAR SERIES will run at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with doubleheader races scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13,” the sanctioning body stated. “We look forward to an exciting weekend of racing action at an excellent venue.

“Green Savoree Racing Promotions will contact customers soon with guidance regarding event attendance.”

INDYCAR was able to set the dates after working with local officials as the races were in question due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

There are now five INDYCAR races left in the season at three tracks: Mid-Ohio, Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s road course and the Streets of St. Petersburg. That brings the total schedule of events to 14, down from 17 events run on the calendar the past few seasons.

Mid-Ohio has been on the IndyCar schedule every year since 2007. Scott Dixon is the defending race winner on the 2.258-mile course.

The race on Saturday will air at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, while Sunday’s event airs at 1 p.m. ET on NBC.
