BJ McLeod to Drive for Live Fast Motorsports in 2021

BJ McLeod will drive the No. 78 Ford for he and Matt Tifft’s new NASCAR Cup Series team, Live Fast Motorsports, in 2021, the team announced Nov. 20.

The team acquired the charter from Go FAS Racing in 2020 and will partner with Stewart-Haas Racing.

McLeod competed in 16 Cup events in 2020, most of them for BJ McLeod Motorsports. Additionally, he competed for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller in the majority of his Xfinity Series starts.

Tifft drove the No. 36 car for Front Row Motorsports in 2019 but suffered a seizure late in the year. Before that, he competed in the NXS full time from 2017-18. He has nine career top fives and 38 top 10s in the series.

“Live Fast Motorsports is excited to be joining an incredible group of owners, as well as the new teams and ownership coming into the sport,” the team stated in a release. “NASCAR‘s Next Gen car and model for teams will provide opportunities for new teams to compete at a higher level. Live Fast Motorsports and its partners are ready to take on the challenge to grow and develop as a team.”

The team will debut in the 2021 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway in February.
