Mason Massey Returning to BJMM for 12-Race Xfinity Run

For the second year in a row, Mason Massey will run a part-time schedule in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for BJ McLeod Motorsports, the team announced Jan. 12.

Massey will drive the No. 99 in 12 races in 2021, two more than his 2020 docket of 10.

His first start of 2021 will come at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

“Last season was a dream come true,” Massey said in a team release. “To be given the opportunity to compete at this level of stock car racing is something that I dreamed about for a long time, and to be given the opportunity to continue racing at this level is so special to me.”

Added team owner BJ McLeod: “We’re thrilled to have Mason return to our team. Mason showed a lot of promise last year and I think he will surprise people this season. He has a very diverse racing resume and has proven to be a very well rounded race car driver. It’ll be another fun year for our [No.] 99 team with Mason a part of the driver lineup.”

Massey joins fellow part-timers Stefan Parsons, Josh Bilicki and Ryan Ellis in the No. 99 this year.

Jesse Little and Matt Mills, meanwhile, are the team’s full-time drivers.

In 2020, his first Xfinity season, Massey scored an average finish of 25.2, with his top result a 20th-place effort at Talladega Superspeedway.
