Chris Windom To Make Cup Debut at the Bristol Dirt Track

Chris Windom will make his NASCAR Cup Series debut next month at the Bristol Motor Speedway dirt race, according to a RacinBoys article. Windom will bring the experience of being a USAC Midget champion and Triple Crown winner to NASCAR.

Windom will pilot the No. 15 Rick Ware Racing Chevy with sponsorship backing from Nos Energy Drink.

“Obviously, the feel, the sensation of sliding through the corners helps somebody that’s been on dirt a lot like me,” Windom told RacinBoys. “But still, a huge learning curve for me with everything — shifting the car on restarts, pit stops and everything. That will be the biggest learning curve but it’s definitely a really unique and cool opportunity to put this deal together to go and run Bristol.”

Windom has competed in five Truck Series races with a best finish of 14th at Eldora Speedway in 2019. He also has five top 10s in seven ARCA Menards Series starts spanning from 2011 to 2015.

The Food City Dirt Race is set to begin on March 28 at 3:30 p.m. ET and will air on FOX.
