Jessica Friesen Running Bristol Dirt Truck Race

The inaugural NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at the Bristol Motor Speedway dirt course will have a husband-and-wife duo.

Jessica Friesen and Stewart Friesen will race together for Halmar Friesen Racing, HFR announced March 11.

Stewart will drive his full-time No. 52 Toyota, and Jessica will drive an additional entry, the No. 62 Toyota.

The couple will become the second husband and wife duo to race in the same NASCAR event, following Elton Sawyer and Patty Moise. The Friesens will be the first married couple to drive for the same team.

Halmar International, Parks Companies, A. Colarusso & Son, Corr Pak Merchandising, Tammy 10 Media, Hills Racing, One Zee Tees and CASP The Council of Autism Service Providers will sponsor Jessica as she attempts to make her Truck debut.

“I’ve been racing sprint cars and modifieds on dirt for my entire racing career, and it’s amazing to get an opportunity to compete at this level,” Jessica tweeted. “I’m looking forward to the experience of driving a truck for the first time. The fact that this race is happening on dirt is really exciting. I couldn’t ask for a better group to work with than the team we’ve assembled at HFR. I want to thank everyone who has made this possible including our team owner Chris Larsen and all of our other sponsors who have supported me in the past both in dirt modifieds and sprint cars who have come back on board for this race.”

Without any owners’ points, Jessica will have to drive her way into the race.

Stewart won the last Truck dirt race, the 2019 Eldora Dirt Derby at Eldora Speedway.

The Pinty’s Truck Race on Dirt will take place on Saturday, March 27 at 8 p.m. ET with, TV coverage provided by FOX Sports 1.

I wonder if FOX SPORTS will eliminate some of their buffoonery to give time for this story about Jessica Friesen. NA$CAR should give her a ‘promoters entry’ to show they are not against women.
