3 Drivers Return to Nashville for 2nd Tire Test

Kurt Busch, Christopher Bell and Chase Briscoe will head back to Nashville Superspeedway Tuesday and Wednesday, April 20-21, FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass tweeted April 19.

They will perform a second tire test to confirm the tire that will be used when the NASCAR Cup Series runs at Nashville in June. The trio first tested Goodyear tires last month.

According to Pockrass, NASCAR put down a resin on the track (that isn’t the PJ1 traction compound) and used a tire dragon to rubber-in the surface.

The tests are in preparation for the series’ first trip to the Tennessee track; it’s been almost 10 years since a NASCAR national series visited Nashville.

The test is not open to the public.

The Ally 400 is set to air on June 20 at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
