For the second consecutive race, John Hunter Nemechek starts on the pole for Friday’s (May 7) NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Darlington Raceway.

The two-time 2021 winner took the top spot after ending fifth last week at Kansas Speedway.

Hattori Racing Enterprises’ Austin Hill is also on the front row next to Nemechek, while GMS Racing’s Zane Smith begins third. ThorSport Racing’s Ben Rhodes lines up fourth and Todd Gilliland rounds out the top five qualifiers.

Rhodes’ teammate Johnny Sauter slots in sixth with Stewart Friesen just behind in seventh. Nemechek’s Kyle Busch Motorsports cohort Chandler Smith is eighth, Matt Crafton is ninth and Hailie Deegan finishes up the top 10 in the lineup.

The lineup was set using a formula that weighted and added four performance metrics categories: driver’s and truck owner’s finishing positions (25% each), fastest lap from previous race (15%) and team owner points ranking (35%).
