The NASCAR Cup Series’ regular season finale is this weekend and Kyle Larson will lead the field to green at Daytona International Speedway.
The points leader placed third at Michigan International Speedway last Sunday, helping him secure the pole position for Saturday night’s (Aug. 25) race.
His Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron will start alongside him on the front row. Joe Gibbs Racing cohorts Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch make up the second row and Chase Elliott rounds out the top five.
Four categories based on drivers’ performances were weighted and added to form the lineup: driver’s and car owner’s finishing position (weighted 25% each), fastest lap from previous race (15%) and team owner points ranking (35%).
The Coke Zero Sugar 400 is set to air on Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. ET on NBC.
