Ty Gibbs Takes Richmond Xfinity Pole, JGR Sweeps Front Row

The Xfinity Series took to the track early Saturday morning (April 2) for qualifying for the first short track race of the season at Richmond Raceway. Ty Gibbs once again showed his dominance as he won the pole for the ToyotaCare 250 with a lap of 121.836 mph.

“It feels real good, we got a real fast Monster Energy Toyota Supra. Got a real good car, I feel real excited about it,” Gibbs told Fox Sports 1.

It’s Gibbs’ third career pole, but his first on an oval. He ran strong at Richmond in September, posting a seventh-place finish.

The top 10 rounded out as such: Gibbs, Nemechek, Noah Gragson, Austin Hill, Brandon Jones, Ryan Preece, Jeremy Clements, Ryan Sieg, AJ Allmendinger and Parker Retzlaff.

Howie DiSavino III, Harrison Rhodes, Matt Mills and Dillon Bassett did not qualify for the race.

Xfinity Lineup for Richmond

FS1 will have coverage of the ToyotaCare 250 starting at 1:30 PM ET.
