Kevin Harvick Sweeps 2006 Season at PIR; Johnson Builds on Point Lead

Kevin Harvick had the hottest car in the Arizona desert today - in more ways than one. With sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s, Harvick battled a battery problem that required turning off his cooling fans in the cockpit for much of the race. Kasey Kahne Says He’s Not Out of Chase; Backs It Up With Sixth Win of 2006

Kasey Kahne pulled the Lowe's Motor Speedway sweep, winning the Bank of America 500 over Jimmie Johnson. That's no mean feat considering Johnson has seemed nearly unbeatable at the track named for his sponsor, sweeping both races in both 2004 and 2005. It was Kahne's sixth win of the season and further stakes his claim as master of the intermediate tracks.
