Mike Bliss won the EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 200 Saturday night for his first victory at the event since 2002. In a race full of intense side-by-side racing, Bliss held off Terry Cook by a mere 0.207 seconds to take the checkered flag.
Jack Sprague finally got the proverbial monkey off his back Saturday afternoon in Martinsville. In his 13th career start, he finally took a checkered flag at a track that’s given him more than his share of bad luck through the years, finishing 0.416 seconds ahead of Martinsville spring race winner David Starr to take the win. Erik Darnell, Mark Martin and Johnny Benson rounded out the top five.
Mark Martin scored his fifth win of the 2006 season Saturday afternoon in the John Deere 250, taking the checkered flag under caution over Mike Skinner after a wild four-truck wreck occurred on the race’s final lap. Ted Musgrave, Todd Bodine and AJ Allmendinger rounded out the top five finishers in the first Truck Series race ever held at Talladega.
After a season of frustration, Mike Skinner finally broke through to score his first Truck Series win of 2006 Saturday night in the Smith’s Las Vegas 350. Taking the lead on the final restart on lap 126, Skinner held off Ted Musgrave by .309 seconds to score his first career victory at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Mike Bliss, Johnny Benson and Ron Hornaday rounded out the top five.
After starting the season without a single Truck Series win, Johnny Benson scored his fourth of the season Saturday night in the Sylvania 200. Starting on the front row, Benson dominated for much of the evening, finishing .691 seconds ahead of polesitter Mike Skinner at the checkered flag. Kyle Busch, Todd Bodine and David Starr rounded out the top-five finishers.
