The fact that MIS is able to still draw nearly 100,000 fans twice a year for the Sprint Cup Series – not including those coming to watch the Truck Series, ARCA and Nationwide events, while sporting the worst economy in the country (Metro Detroit is estimated to have unemployment rate well in excess of 25%), is a testament to the track and the fans that continue to support it.
