Nationwide Series Breakdown: 2009 Virginia 529 College Savings 250 at Richmond

All day at Richmond, through coverage of practice and qualifying, the hype was all over Kevin Harvick's No. 33 car and how he finally had the horses to run with Kyle Busch. There was also plenty of press regarding the charity competition within Joe Gibbs Racing between Busch and Denny Hamlin. Meanwhile, Carl Edwards only qualified 39th, made his way forward all night long, took the lead on lap 227 and never looked back, taking a win that few expected him to contend for with a broken foot and being relegated to a last-place start after suffering from spark plug issues.

Tracking the Trucks: 2008 Chevy Silverado 250 at Daytona

Todd Bodine took the checkered flag ahead of Kyle Busch to win the Craftsman Truck Series' season opener at Daytona International Speedway Friday night. Bodine held off a late-race charge by Kyle Busch and Johnny Benson and crossed the finish line just 0.077 seconds ahead of Busch in the Chevy Silverado 250 to score his first win at the superspeedway. David Starr and Rick Crawford rounded out the top five.

Down in Daytona 2008: Trucks Hand Track Over to Cup Cars for 2nd Session

Raindrops came down late Sunday afternoon, signaling the end of Craftsman Truck Series testing at Daytona International Speedway around 2:00 p.m. The rain-shortened session was the series' third and final day at the track before Speedweeks gets underway next month, as teams prepare for their 250-mile main event to be held on Friday, February 15th. A number of teams decided to head home after testing on Saturday, but those who stuck around encountered a late start because of a wet track in the morning and then showers early in the afternoon. Prior to the rain, it was accomplished road racer and Rookie of the Year candidate Justin Marks who posted the day's fastest speed, mastering the historic tri-oval with a lap of 185.723 mph.
